A fifth generation descendant of Quince Orchard, Maryland, Green recognizes that he would not have been afforded the opportunities he has but for the sacrifices of those forward thinking few in Quince Orchard.
Tiffany is from Orangeburg, SC. She is a lawyer with the Federal Government. As a Duke Undergraduate, she only knows one type of blue. She has been singing in church since she can remember, and is now a member of a local a cappella group, Capital Blend.
Once a Quarterback, always a quarterback…Jordan calls the plays for the team so we can score for our Attollo Scholars. Nothing is off limits—staff all-nights, 7:00 AM team basketball games, and 5 Before 5 (running 5 miles before 5AM) — as he asks nothing of his team that he wouldn’t do himself. Between CDCF, UniVision (the bilingual Day Care Center he co-founded), and Xylem (a mentoring app company he co-founded), Jordan takes his dreams and turns them into reality.
Ryann Richardson made history when she became the 50th Anniversary Miss Black America, taking up the mantle of the country’s first pageant and nationally televised celebration of women of color. Before that, the tech marketer-turned-founder and Diversity & Inclusion leader spent 10 years building brands and shaping internal culture for companies spanning from early-stage startups (Victor) to billion-dollar "unicorns" (Uber) to the Fortune 500 (T-Mobile/Deutsche Telekom).
Khiné Bonner is a producer, editor, colorist, and media literacy educator. He also was a 2018 Docs In Progress Fellow. He's designed and developed youth media and filmmaking curriculum for a myriad of nonprofit organizations in the Washington metropolitan area and he's also the lead editor at TEK Creative, a small production agency based in Washington, DC. Khiné's clients have included the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, the Luce Arts Foundation, the Greater Washington Boys & Girls Club.
As the Head of Global Public Relations for Global Citizen, a movement of engaged citizens who are using their collective voice to end extreme poverty, eradicate climate change and end gender inequality by 2030, and most recently as the Director of Communications for Discovery Education, where she oversaw targeted press engagement for ed tech impact initiatives that aimed to uplift 51 million students around the globe, Charmion believes that “service is the rent we pay for life.”
CEO, author, and media commentator, Joshua DuBois is one of our country’s top voices on community partnerships, issues impacting African Americans, and religion in the public square. Joshua led the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships under President Obama. In the White House he brought together community leaders from across the ideological spectrum to tackle some of the nation’s biggest challenges. Joshua is now CEO of Gauge (gauge.ai), a market research company.
Jerome Price is a teacher of Advanced Placement United States History and African American History for Montgomery County Public Schools. He founded and continues to coordinate the Jaguars Scholars Leadership Program (JSLP), an award-winning organization that aims to build the leadership capacity of its African American and Latinx student members at Richard Montgomery High School. Student leaders meet weekly and are provided opportunities for mentorship.
A Quince Orchard, MD native, Dr. Davis received her undergraduate degree from Duke University, received her M.D. from the University of Connecticut, was Chief Resident during her residency at the University of Maryland, and earned a Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
UN PROGRAMA DE EDUCACIÓN ARTÍSTICA PRESENTADO EN COLABORACIÓN ENTRE
Dirigido por la artista docente de Docs In Progress, Khiné Bonner, y la asistente, Mariam Salahvarzi, en este taller de documentales en línea, los estudiantes aprendieron las habilidades artísticas y técnicas de filmar un documental. A continuación se muestran los dos cortometrajes Miles H. (Grado X) y un proyecto conjunto entre Muhummed B., Sulevman B. y Yusef Q. (Grado X).
