Ceil and I have enjoyed everything at BlackRock from intimate concerts by groups like The Seldom Scene to powerful visual art in the Kay Gallery, each visit reminding us to stay open to unexpected forms of inspiration.
One of our most memorable moments was a performance by “Soul in Motion,” whose music and dance created a spiritual atmosphere that moved me deeply and reconnected me with memories of my father. We went in not knowing what to expect and left in awe—Ceil could only say, “Wow…wow…wow.”

During my time at the camp I had a bunch of fun and I learned a bunch of cool things too, meet lots of cool people and the counselors there are nice too. If you’re interested in it I highly advise checking it out and seeing what they have there. I feel like going there could teach you or your kids something nice about how to work together, come out their shells etc.

Gems like BlackRock push us to examine ourselves and how we connect with others. When walking through the doors, you can experience so many art forms, meet interesting people, and find yourself. We are lucky to have a space in our backyard to do that. Knowing that I, and many of my neighbors, can walk over and find something that interests me is why I am a member.
Supporting BlackRock Center for the Arts is not an option for me, it's a duty. We need to keep the arts local and accessible for those in our community. We need a place where the diversity of Germantown is not only uplifted but showcased. We need BlackRock.
